Stephen DeMaura - President of Americans for Job Security
Stephen DeMaura attended American University in Washington, DC, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Law, Economics, and Government from the School of Public Affairs. A member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, he served as chapter President. Stephen DeMaura currently attends Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and is studying to receive his Master of Arts in Government at the Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts and Sciences. Stephen DeMaura has served in a number of leadership positions in government and politics. He began his career in the field as Executive Director of Democracy in Practice in Concord, New Hampshire, where he created and managed a voter registration effort in high schools across the state. In 2002, he worked on the Bruce Keough for Governor campaign in Manchester, New Hampshire, as a Statewide Volunteer Coordinator, in which position he built and supported the volunteer organization for the campaign. In 2002 and 2004, Stephen DeMaura gained experience in fundraising and campaign management when he worked for the Republican Senate Caucus. Working with the Senate President and Republican Senate members the Senator's gained a significant fundraising advantage over their opponents. In addition to this work in fundraising and campaign management, Stephen DeMaura has worked at media and communications firms leading projects for political campaigns, ballot initiative campaigns After graduating from American University with his Bachelor's degree, Stephen DeMaura worked as a communications consultant for several ballot initiatives, advocacy groups and candidates. After a series of other jobs in politics, Stephen DeMaura accepted his current positions as President of Americans for Job Security.
