Responsible for moving 50 to 60 pages a week, Ron Panarotti currently produces the editorial pages of three daily newspapers and the news sections of two weeklies in his position as an assistant regional day desk editor at the Asbury Park Press.

Ron’s achievements at the Press include winning second place in the special sections category of the New Jersey Press Association awards in 2006 for his work on “In Service of Freedom,” a standalone broadsheet section about local soldiers killed in Iraq. Ron also oversaw a print and online package on the 15th anniversary of the 1992 New Jersey Shore nor’easter that attracted roughly 75,000 hits in its first three days online.

Previously, Ron spent four years as a copy editor at The Press of Atlantic City. Ron began his career in the newspaper industry as special sections editor at Ocean County Newspapers in 1993, and has since worked to help maintain the highest standards for integrity, writing quality, and professionalism in each position he has held.

Ron earned his Bachelor of Arts in journalism from Rider College, where he was executive editor of The Rider News, the weekly campus newspaper. Ron also earned a Webmaster certification from Ocean County College after completing a certain number of credit hours in studying HTML, Dreamweaver and other applications.
