Mark Ghiglieri is the son of the famous painter and sculptor Lorenzo Ghiglieri and, together with his two siblings, was raised in an artistic environment that fostered creativity and taking chances. Instilled with both an inventive and an entrepreneurial spirit, Mark Ghiglieri began marketing his father’s artwork at a young age. Eventually, Mark Ghiglieri decided to start a reproduction business and, together with Phillip Morse, purchased his father’s extant bronze mould collection and the rights to reproduce 20 of his paintings. The two built a foundry named Millennium Fine Arts in Wilsonville, Oregon, which grew rapidly. In 1996, Mark Ghiglieri sold his share of the business to pursue a new venture. After attending an art auction, Mark Ghiglieri began to focus on creating a humanitarian business that would supply charities with fine art to auction for a profit. Forming Provenance Fine Art, Mark Ghiglieri commissioned art from his father and his siblings to be auctioned for the benefit of various charities. Once a piece was auctioned, the earnings were split evenly between Provenance and the beneficiary charity, which incurred no cost at all throughout the process. Seeing great success, Mark Ghiglieri’s company operated 2 foundries to meet demand and expanded from 8 employees to 100 in just 9 months. Ultimately, Mark Ghiglieri sold Provenance and started focusing on his own art. Departing from the realism that drives both his parents and his siblings as artists, Mark Ghiglieri developed his own unique abstract art under the name Marco Selvaggia, choosing Selvaggia for its Italian meaning: “wild.” A year later, Mark Ghiglieri returned to his philanthropic work with a new project, Sovereign Charity Group, which provided charities with upscale wines. Today, Mark Ghiglieri is the CEO of Masterpiece Investments Corporation, through which he markets and sells his family’s art. Still dedicated to philanthropy, Mark Ghiglieri has donated tens of millions of dollars to non-profits and charities nationwide through his company.
