Intoccabile is perhaps the most influential canadian Grime and Dark Garage producer.
He is the promoter of a mature, original and homegrown GRIME sound, which could be described as a cross between Birmingham instrumental Grime, neurofunk and minimal techno.
He is the owner of the legendary underground imprint Fyutchaflex recordings and events ( www.fyutchaflex.ca ), which was established in 2001 in order to promote by way of releases and events the then budding dark Garage and Grime sounds.
His radical, agressively normative vision of what Grime could be, or rather, should be, his unrivalled expertise as an engineer, his grotesquely sublime sense of the musical have all contributed to put him in a most comfortable position in the past few years.
Intoccabile releases material exclusively on his label, but there have been a few exceptions, such as his effort on Rare Grooves volume two ( 2009 ), published by Zardonic recordings, and a few pieces written under various aliases.
Astoundingly, all of his releases, without exception, have become underground classics, and his « Grime related » album has become a best-seller mere days after its release in digital form.
Intoccabile’s accomplishments include the creation in 2001 of Fyutchaflex recordings and events, the publishing of a number of aesthetics books in which the foundations for a theory of Forward music were outlined, the release of a number of key Grime singles, the launch of the Forward music weekly at the Passeport bar, the launch of the Paradigm-X series of events, the hosting of one of the very first drum and bass radio shows on the fm dial ( Radio Centre-Ville, 102.3 fm ), innumerable sets in bars, clubs and raves.
He has won and has been nominated for various music awards ( La Nuit de la Chanson, Cégeps en spectacles, Gala Diversité 1997, etc. ).
