Hairline Illusions, LLC President Egypt Lawson founded her company with a mission to produce high-quality custom wigs and hair alternatives for a variety of consumers, ranging from entertainers to medical patients. At Hairline Illusions, Egypt Lawson creates some of the most natural-looking hair alternatives available on the market today. With a showroom in Manhattan and more than two decades of experience, Lawson applies her expertise in hair artistry to serve New York as a leading wig designer and creator. Egypt Lawson has been featured in some of the most prestigious beauty and trade shows in the world, including International Beauty Show and the HBA Global Expo. Hairline Illusions was also recently featured in August 2009 issue of Vogue Nippon. Not only is Egypt Lawson a skilled hair designer, but she is also a successful businesswoman and was a Project Enterprise Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in 2004 and 2007. She was also and featured on CNN “Your Money”. As co-owner and President of Hairline Illusions, she has many responsibilities on her plate, although that has not stopped her from taking on several other projects. Egypt Lawson and husband Kenyatta Lawson recently founded Hair That Cares, a nonprofit organization that provides free medical wigs to financially disadvantaged women and children who have lost their hair due to illness. Many insurance companies do not cover the purchase of medical wigs, and because of the special materials and techniques it takes to manufacture a quality medical wig, many people are unable to afford them. Through Hair That Cares, Egypt Lawson has made it possible for those people who cannot afford medical wigs to look and feel better about themselves. To supplement Hair That Cares, Lawson established the endowment program One for One through Hairline Illusions. With every purchase of a medical wig through Hairline Illusions, Egypt Lawson is able to donate another to Hair That Cares. Egypt Lawson also launched industry information website www.fashion-beauty.com - a source of inspiration, as well as one of the Internet’s leading sources for beauty and fashion advice, industry news, and professional women’s online community www.goddesshaven.org. Lawson contributes at least 20 hours a month to Goddess Haven, helping small business owners develop their ventures.
