In April 2004, Dr. Puneet Handa published the article "The Economic Value of a Trading Floor: Evidence from the American Stock Exchange," together with Robert Schwartz and Ashish Tiwari, in the Journal of Business. Dr. Puneet Handa's article was also published by PRNewsWire, Yahoo!Finance, and Business Wire while receiving considerable attention from the Financial Times, Finextra, the John Lothian Newsletter, Active Trader Magazine, and the Wall Street Journal Online Edition. Throughout his career, Dr. Puneet Handa has published 17 other papers in addition to an abstract in The Journal of Finance and two textbooks, FinCoach: Fixed Income and FinCoach 2.0, which have been adopted by over 300 schools nationwide. Currently, Dr. Puneet Handa is again working with Robert Schwartz and looking at order imbalances in the securities market to examine their impact on trading costs and market breakdown using evidence from the London Stock Exchange. Dr. Puneet Handa's earlier work with Robert Schwartz on order imbalance established it as a determinant of trading costs and showed that it plays a key role in quote-driven market breakdowns. Dr. Puneet Handa is also continuing his work with Ashish Tiwari and looking at idiosyncratic volatility's economic value and its specific role is allocation assets. Together with Chris Neely and Hui Guo, Dr. Puneet Handa and Ashish Tiwari are examining statistical evidence on the predictive ability of idiosyncratic volatility and determining its effect on real-time asset allocation and performance. With the dataset already assembled, Dr. Puneet Handa is starting the asset allocation procedures. A graduate of the University of Iowa with a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance, Dr. Puneet Handa served as the Robert L. Jensen Fellow in Finance there for 4 years and as an Associate Professor of Finance for 14 years. Dr. Puneet Handa has also taught at New York University and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
