Managing business plans associated with new technologies and sales growth, Vice President of Government and Financial Services Arun Baheti handles several operations at Marshall & Swift. Arun Baheti negotiates licenses for the company and is actively involved in protecting intellectual property. Despite the lagging real estate market, Arun Baheti has kept the sales teams strong and aided a weak business unit for this information provider, improving operations for Marshall & Swift’s appraisal and government divisions. Baheti studied Political Science and Science, Technology & Politics at Macalester College, where he graduated Magna cum Laude with two Bachelor of Arts degrees. Transitioning to eGovernment, Arun Baheti was responsible for developing new technologies for California government. During his tenure as Director of eGovernment, Arun Baheti gathered all state services under one web portal, called “MyCalifornia.” Significantly changing the scope of the government’s web presence, Arun Baheti built a brand for the state and positioned California as the top state website within six months. After the launch of “MyCalifornia,” many of the state’s departments called on Arun Baheti to help them improve services using new technologies for their specific industries. Arun Baheti served as co-chair for the California Inter-Agency eGovernment Task Force and was a member of the California Technology Innovation Council. eWeek honored Arun Baheti with a “Technology Innovation Best Practice” award for his launch of “MyCalifornia” and his other efforts in eGovernment. The “Best of Web” award from Government Technology Magazine also went to Arun Baheti. Extending his expertise beyond his professional endeavors, Arun Baheti has been active helping non-profits take advantage of technology to improve operations.
