Andrew Playford was born and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa. At 19, Andrew Playford enrolled at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Andrew Playford received his B. Business Science in 1990 and traveled to Britain to earn a professional qualification as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. While in the United Kingdom, Andrew Playford worked as an Assistant Manager at Price Waterhouse Coopers.

After five years with Price Waterhouse Coopers, Andrew Playford relocated to New York City. In 1996, Mr. Playford became the Vice President of Operations for marketing and advertising firm Think New Ideas, Inc. In this role, Andrew Playford communicated directly with the firm’s CFO. Mr. Playford helped Think New Ideas, Inc. acquire new businesses and consolidate them into existing operations. Andrew Playford regulated the company’s pricing and reporting processes and reorganized back office business channels.

Andrew Playford transitioned to the computer software industry for his next positions as the Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer of SmartRay Network, Inc. By raising two rounds of finance for the firm, Andrew Playford made the company attractive for acquisition, and LifeMinders, Inc., an online direct marketing company, picked it up in 2000.

Today, Andrew Playford divides his time between his homes in Africa and the United States. Mr. Playford finds the lives of famous people interesting, and he is an avid reader of biographies. In his spare time, he enjoys relaxing and watching Springbok rugby.
